Pilibhit: After a court order, a 37-year-old man along with his two brothers aged 40 and 32 and an unidentified friend were charged on Sunday for allegedly assaulting a 26-year-old farmer and stripping and molesting his wife at a village in Pilibhit district on March 11. The incident is linked to a land dispute between the two sides.
Police said the accused barged into the farmer’s house around 7pm, abused him, and attacked him with sticks. When his 20-year-old wife intervened, she was allegedly stripped, sexually harassed, and robbed of her gold earrings.

He alleged that despite filing a written complaint at the local police station the next day, no FIR was registered. He later sent a complaint to the SP by registered post, but no action followed, prompting him to approach the court.
